The In-Law Contrast Pair on a Married Couple's Variety Show

Husbands Go Viral After Joining a Mother-in-Law Reality Show is the first husband-couple reality show in the country since same-sex marriage became legal. The male lead is an actor from humble beginnings whose career faded after he made his relationship public. After the show airs, he returns to the top with help from his kind and open-minded mother, who grew up poor in a mountain village.

Feng Ruoyun, meanwhile, transmigrates into the role of the foil: the wealthy husband's mother, a rich entrepreneur with old-fashioned views. She only cares about having grandchildren and never considers her son's feelings, and she is extremely picky about the person he married.

When Feng Ruoyun arrives, the original host has just complained that her son's husband, a little-known actor, is dressed so poorly that he's embarrassing her.

Feng Ruoyun: ...Why should I take the blame for the original host? She turns around and gives away one of the original host's luxury boutiques.
