[Historical Romance]
They say there is a divine physician in this world, beautiful as Guanyin, who can bring the dead back to life and restore flesh to bare bones. In truth, this renowned young physician is better at making poison, and enjoys poisoning people even more.
To find people to test her medicines on, Ming Yueli made plenty of enemies. Everyone feared the poisons in her hands, and for years, no one could get close to her.
Until someone paid a fortune to send the martial world's most elite assassin organization after her, solely to take her life.
That very night, Ming Yueli abandoned her little apothecary, changed her appearance, and fled across the river for her life.
On the run, she found Ye Bujian, gravely wounded and at death's door.
Looking at the trembling sword pointed at her and his body covered in bloody wounds, Ming Yueli's eyes lit up. "Let me test my medicine on you, and I'll let you kill me. Deal?"

The first time Ye Bujian saw Ming Yueli, he recognized her as one of his targets. But this divine physician looked fragile, while her methods of using poison were so bizarre and unpredictable that no one could guard against them.
At first, his accomplices ambushed him, leaving him badly wounded. Before he could even raise the sword he'd meant to stab her with, he'd already been poisoned.
Later, he was tied up tightly in iron chains and afflicted with several strange poisons. Watching the woman before him smile brightly, he wanted to cut her into a thousand pieces.
At last, he found an opportunity.
On the night he was preparing to make his move, the young divine physician shed her usual air of fragility. Grabbing his lapels, she leaned close and whispered in his ear, "You saved another woman today. I'm angry."
After disappearing for several days, Ye Bujian returned covered in blood, holding the woman's severed head. Kneeling at Ming Yueli's feet, he begged, "The employer is dead. Please don't be angry anymore, okay?"
Ming Yueli smiled dreamily, undisguised greed in her eyes. "All right. There's just one last poison. If you survive it, I'll forgive you."
