Feng Yu and Gu Huaiyu are twin brothers.

They look exactly alike, but their fates couldn't be more different.

Feng Yu is a vicious asura demon, hated and hunted by everyone. Gu Huaiyu is a young master from a distinguished family, with everyone at his beck and call.

When Feng Yu gets hurt, he has to tough it out with sheer stubbornness. When Gu Huaiyu gets hurt, his mother takes care of him.

Speaking of mothers, Feng Yu remembers the year he was thirteen, when he first met Gu Huaiyu. It was snowing heavily that day. His mother was on the street buying chestnuts for Gu Huaiyu. Feng Yu walked over, and when she saw him, she said, "We follow different paths, so we cannot work together."

That was the first time he envied Gu Huaiyu.

That same year, when he was thirteen, Feng Yu saw a living person for the first time on Little Luan Mountain, where he lived.

Chang Yun was still a young monk then, his robes spotless and pure.

Covered in filth, Feng Yu felt ashamed of himself. He didn't even dare speak to him, and could only watch from afar in secret.

After keeping watch for a full hundred years, Chang Yun finally spoke to him: "Benefactor Feng, the Asura Path brings suffering to all living beings. Everyone has the right to destroy it. I hope you will lend us your aid."

Feng Yu didn't know what the Asura Path was, and he didn't understand Chang Yun's words. But he could more or less guess that Chang Yun wanted him to get rid of asura demons like himself.

So he did. After three days of fighting, he barely survived, and all he got in return was a distant "thank you."

But he comforted himself with the thought that the Buddha's chosen one loved all humanity, not just one person.

That lie didn't last long. A few years later, Chang Yun spoke to him a second time: "Benefactor Feng, Huaiyu is gravely injured. He needs a heart transplant to survive. I hope you will lend us your aid."

That day, he offered his heart to Chang Yun, and got another distant "thank you" in return.

As it turned out, even a demon would die without a heart.

3.

When he awoke from the chaos once more, Feng Yu discovered that not only was he still alive, he was also sharing a body with Gu Huaiyu.

Gu Huaiyu told him that another hundred years had passed since Feng Yu's disappearance.

A lot had happened in that century. Most notably, Chang Yun had broken his vows.

Feng Yu couldn't understand why he had broken them.

Neither could Gu Huaiyu.

Then, on a snowy night, they met again. The Buddha's chosen one came toward him, eyes bloodshot, and pulled the demon into his arms. "Master Feng, I've been looking for you for years."

Feng Yu: "Oh, you're looking for Feng Yu? He's been dead for a hundred years, or so I've heard."

A second chance at love after heartbreak, and a lost love found again.
