Pei Pianpian transmigrated into a book.
She became a little fox, the nine-tailed kind.
She was the original story's big villain's junior disciple. When her master turned evil, she was caught in the fallout and became a cannon-fodder character who was eliminated early.
At that moment, she was curled up in a beautiful older sister's arms, listening to the System babble about the daunting task she had to complete: save the villains, especially her master.
Her? Wasn't she sure to get chopped down in one stroke?
Well, she was going to die either way, so she might as well try. If her rescue plan worked, she'd go down in history!
The original story said her master was capricious and moody, her eldest senior brother was a womanizer who spent all his time chasing skirts, and her second senior sister was devious and up to no good.
The only person in the whole family who wasn't a villain was her third senior sister, whose beauty was destined to fade too soon.
After joining the sect, Pei Pianpian was a little bewildered.
Her supposedly capricious, moody master had the best temper imaginable.
Pei Pianpian slacked off, fooled around, and wreaked havoc, afraid of nothing.
Whenever her master got angry, she'd tug on his sleeve and act cute. It worked every time.
Her supposedly womanizing eldest senior brother spent all day following their third senior sister around, keeping himself pure and refusing to so much as flirt with another woman.
Pei Pianpian helped him win her over, coming up with all kinds of tricks.
Her senior brother, however, was terribly worried that their little junior sister would be deceived. He kept asking her where she'd learned all those tricks.
Her supposedly devious second senior sister often went out to meet a monk.
Pei Pianpian gritted her teeth, wishing she could beat up the bald monk who was trying to seduce her senior sister.
Her senior sister came to her senses, but when she looked around, she realized someone had stolen her little junior sister away. She rolled up her sleeves and went looking for a fight.
The third senior sister, the only one in the original story who wasn't a villain but was fated to die young, was the beautiful older sister who had picked Pei Pianpian up that day.
Pei Pianpian loved turning into a little fox and curling up beside her.
Her senior sister was gentle and considerate. Knowing that her little junior sister loved snacks, she always kept fresh treats on hand for her.
You call a warm, harmonious family like this a nest of villains?
Saving the villains? Easy!
After the great battle, everyone recalled the terrifying might of Cangming Sect, and fell silent.
Most of them had offended the sect at one point or another, so they could only send over the jade token that represented the highest status as an apology.
The people of Cangming Sect looked as if they'd been handed a hot potato.
In the end, they decided to have their eldest senior brother personally return the token as a sign of respect, and pass along Pei Pianpian's message:
"Junior Sister says she never wants to work for anyone again in this life. No thanks!"
