After dying for no apparent reason and getting bound to a System in a shady deal, Wu Xing learns that completing redemption missions will bring her back to life. To earn that chance, she chooses to lie flat.
And so, the following scenes unfold:
1. "Host, hurry and save him! He's about to die!"
"He's got another ten seconds before he stops breathing. What's the rush? Don't panic."
2. "A side character is in danger. Go to [location] and deal with the threat."
"It's just a side character. I can't earn much redemption credit for that. Not doing it."
"Don't you humans always say, 'Even a tiny mosquito is still meat'?"
"Can't I just be lazy?"
[Bonus Scene]
The day after she comes back to life, Wu Xing is sleeping soundly on her bed.
"Host, something's wrong. Your fish (not really) is here, blocking the door!"
"Oh... What?!"
"Host, why are you packing your things?"
"Did you forget what I've done? If I don't run, I'm dead."
She emptied Mikey's wallet, stuffed Gin into a sack, crushed the strongest characters' convictions, stole the Special Division for Unusual Powers' treasures, abused her identity to run wild, and made it onto the underworld's wanted list...
Remembering all her Host's great deeds, the System clutched its little blanket and trembled in a corner.
Theme: Life is precious.
