A once-in-a-century plague brings Bai Lian and Su Yan together. After four hundred years of life, he has reached middle age in this life. He has seen all the world's wonders and taken them in stride, but this timid, conscientious girl is a first for him. She's one of the prettiest in their group, yet she always stays far away from him and never looks him in the eye.
