After spending all night dealing with cheaters and a troublemaking team, Rong Shi, a five-time world champion and the best entry fragger in the world, died of rage. When he opened his eyes, he had become a streamer hated by the entire internet for cheating.
In the livestream, "Strawberry Is Super Sweet" showed off with an aimbot, wiping out the opposition, while talking in a sugary voice:
"Aww, I guess I'm just extra lucky tonight~"
Looking at the brazen cheat icon and the flood of insults on screen, Rong Shi was numb.
This trash account had to be deleted, right now, for good!
But if he simply deleted the account, his name, Rong Shi, would be branded a cheater for the rest of his life.
"Ding!"
"Strong desire to 'change reality' detected. 'Hard Work Pays Off' System has been bound."
"From this moment on, your life will be ruled by studying."
Staring at the high school exam prep books that had fallen from the sky and the utterly ridiculous exchange shop, Rong Shi could only think: ???
But could this lousy System really be his only hope of turning things around?
In front of the camera, he put up with mockery and abuse as he worked through the hardest problems. Behind the camera, he quietly practiced his aim, improved his skills, and put together a new team.
In the lower division, he single-handedly turned the tide with an ACE, wiping out the top seed with nothing but a gun. He dominated the competition and became a breakout star.
The audience went wild: This isn't the useless streamer I know!
No one could have imagined that this hastily assembled team from an internet cafe would shine on the world stage.
Ran, a gentle, sickly utility player; Debu, a sincere, gullible second entry fragger; Refuse, a rich kid whose family had diamonds in their mines; Drunk, a sentinel and master of dark psychology; and Time, a prodigy entry fragger, formed the brightest five-pointed star of that summer.
But the second after they lifted the trophy, the FMVP somehow produced a book titled An Introduction to Brain-Computer Interfaces.
The audience was baffled: What the hell is this?
Only Rong Shi could see the System before him, its warning light flashing red.
"Ultimate Mission: Submit the paper 'Engineering Methods and Applications of Brain-Computer Interfaces.' It must have an IF of at least 20 and must not plagiarize, borrow from, or imitate anyone else's work."
Theme: Hard work pays off
