The Black Sentinel Is Strong and Obedient

"He's the strongest Sentinel. No one but you can tame him."

The officer brought Ruan Ning before the black Sentinel with the codename "Shuye."

The man was locked in a cage, radiating darkness. Like a beast that had lost its mind, he raged inside the bars, the madness in his eyes enough to make anyone tremble.

The military had collected the pheromone profiles of every Guide. No one but Ruan Ning was compatible with him.

But how could that be possible? Everyone knew Ruan Ning was at the bottom of the Guides, known as the "weakest Guide." His compatibility with most Sentinels was less than 4%.

Ruan Ning thought the military's data had to be wrong.

The officer said, "Try guiding him."

Ruan Ning swallowed. "How do I do that?"

"Try giving him a command."

With little confidence, Ruan Ning said, "Sit."

What happened next was astonishing. The man, who had been raging just moments earlier, actually sat down slowly when he heard Ruan Ning say "sit."

The officer smiled faintly and said to Ruan Ning, "Congratulations. Starting today, you're his Guide."
