Meng Zhe was an upright, by-the-book civil servant. Even though he'd grown up listening to his grandmother's "strange stories," he still firmly believed in materialism.
"There's a dragon sleeping at the bottom of the sea, and a turtle on the village hill that can speak human language..." Stories like that were all feudal superstition to him. He'd always scoffed at them.
Until an accident dragged him into a bizarre battle in the demon realm. He witnessed the legendary "monsters" with his own eyes, and his entire worldview shattered.
After barely escaping with his life, Meng Zhe wanted nothing more than to bury the memory and go back to his ordinary nine-to-five life. But then a transfer order came down out of nowhere, sending him to a mysterious department called the Special Affairs Security Division.
On his first day, he walked into the office with his old schoolbag, trembling with nerves. There, to his dismay, were the very people (crossed out) monsters who had almost killed him that night.
Meng Zhe: "..." (freaking out)
His coworkers: "Welcome to the team." (applauding enthusiastically)
The Special Affairs Security Division, commonly known as the Monster Management Bureau, is at your service.
