As one of the most powerful cultivators in the cultivation world, Guo Yun is ambushed by her junior sister while meditating in seclusion. As she dies, a passage of text appears in her mind.
According to the text, the mighty Guo Yun is nothing more than a cannon-fodder character in a fantasy cultivation novel.
The novel she's in is a harem drama aimed at female readers. A woman disguises herself as a man to join a sect, then becomes entangled with her master, senior brothers, a Demon Lord, a Yao Lord, and others.
Though Guo Yun is the villainess in the story, she's not like the traditional wicked female antagonist. She never tries to steal the heroine's men or make life difficult for her. She even holds an umbrella over the heroine in the rain and helps her cross the road on sunny days, caring for her with all her heart. The only reason she treats the heroine so well is that she's in love with the woman disguised as a man...
So even though she doesn't fight the heroine for the male lead, she is always fighting the male lead for the heroine.
The two sides fight over the heroine until they're battered and bloody...
In the end, the male lead loses to Guo Yun. Guo Yun gets her wish and marries the heroine, but turns twisted when the heroine continues to refuse to consummate their marriage.
After achieving the accolade of being so awful that even dogs spit at her, the heroine finally turns dark.
To prove that the person she used to be is different from who she is now, the first thing the now-dark heroine does is kill the female antagonist she was forced to marry.
Guo Yun: "...Well, thank you for thinking of me first."
Then Guo Yun, suddenly remembering the original story, binds herself to a System. The System tells Guo Yun to protect the heroine for three years without letting her secret identity be exposed, forbids any tragic romance from appearing in the story, and orders Guo Yun to raise the heroine's level from "any passing dog can slap her" to "any passing dog gets slapped by her."
Only...
Looking at the heroine across from her, who trips three times while walking and announces her period to the whole world, Guo Yun falls apart.
With no other choice, Guo Yun adopts the role of a deeply devoted lover and keeps the heroine's fake male identity secret, never expecting this to attract the attention of the others.
"She loves her so much."
"She has eyes for no one but her."
"She can't bear to be apart from her for even a moment."
"Why can't she love me the way she loves her?"
Guo Yun: "...You don't need to donate your eyes to someone who can use them."
The heroine, forced into acquiring top-tier gear and putting up with Guo Yun's bizarre behavior: "...You can have this blessing if you want it."
