[My upcoming novel, The Artifact Spirit Cubs Don't Want to Be Group Favorites, is open for preorders. Please add it to your collection. Thanks for your support.]
A peculiar gatekeeper named Tang Yue has just arrived at a refugee shelter for the upper-level residents of the Moke Star System.
She has mediocre aptitude and a laid-back personality. She doesn't suck up to the nobility or chase after a promotion. Her favorite thing is sunbathing in the reclining chair by the entrance.
Late at night, an attendant arrives at the shelter on behalf of a duke from the star system, looking to hire refugees on short notice.
Tang Yue is woken from her sleep and forced to open the door.
"What are you doing, hiring refugees in the middle of the night? Don't I need to sleep? Don't refugees need to sleep? Come back at dawn!"
Overnight, all sorts of slander about Tang Yue spread throughout the star system.
A useless good-for-nothing, a watchdog at the refugee shelter, an inferior living among the upper-level residents, a barbaric and rude refugee ringleader, and so on.
Tang Yue, however, takes it all in stride.
"If you give, you should get in return. I may not have any other virtues, but I'm exceptionally good at returning the favor."

Tang Yue is a master of mechanical arts, able to fly through the sky and burrow underground, with countless ingenious devices at her disposal. After accidentally traveling to the Moke Star System, she gets bound to a lie flat System.
Tang Yue's idea of a lie flat System:
No need to work hard, just live an easy life.
What the lie flat System is actually like:
It locks away Tang Yue's tools and forbids her from using any mechanical arts.
Does Tang Yue put up with that? A few words are enough to expose the System's false promises. She outsmarts it and forces it to become her lackey.

Before the System splits into multiple personalities:
A paid appearance gig: Tang Yue takes part undercover as the control group in a survival reality show on a desolate planet.
Before a noble young lady guest can even show off, the laid-back Tang Yue steals all the attention.
Tang Yue: "I just wanted to lie flat and take my pay home. I wasn't trying to humiliate her."
Later, viewers go wild over the mysterious Tang Yue: "What is this being that surpasses even the hunters? She's so cool!"
After the System splits into multiple personalities:
Mission to exterminate ore-corroding beasts and protect a desolate planet's base. Each beast killed earns 10,000 star power points.
Under cover of a dark, moonless night, Tang Yue goes on a rampage and snatches nearly ten million star power points from the System, leaving it cowering and twitching in a corner.
A training mission for new members of the Hunters' Alliance.
Tang Yue not only destroys the rookies' mechs, she also trains an entire team so hard they spend three months bedridden in the hospital.
A mission to retrieve energy stolen by an organization.
The bounty is so high that Tang Yue gets carried away and accidentally razes the organization's building to the ground.

Tang Yue has an unexpected encounter with a certain duke.
She forgets he's a tsundere, so she keeps giving him the cold shoulder. "Why are you everywhere I go?"
"Why should I have to report where I go to you? I'm a duke."
Later, the duke becomes an open and clingy sweetheart.
"My dear Yueyue, this vast ducal estate, the top chefs on call, and a private planet you can reach by spaceship are all yours. There's nothing you can imagine that I can't give you."
"You're so annoying! I just want to go home!"

Then one day, the System orders Tang Yue to infiltrate an evil research facility and rescue someone. By accident, every secret is revealed.
The truth about her identity, why she came here, the reason the System split into multiple personalities, the choices she must make in the future...
[Sharp, clever, black-bellied powerhouse x tsundere, loyal-dog duke]
