Oumigawa Jun, captain of the Kitagawa Daiichi Junior High fencing team, once represented Kitadai at the Inter-High School Championships and won first place in Miyagi Prefecture. In his second year of junior high, an injury forced him to give up fencing and his dream of becoming a professional athlete.
That same year, he returned to Tokyo with his mother to take a break and met the cousins Komori Motoya and Sakusa Kiyoomi. After witnessing the crisp, decisive way Sakusa spiked, he became interested in volleyball. Upon entering private Aoba Johsai High School, he joined the volleyball club, wearing number 9 and playing middle blocker.
One weekend, in the Sakusa family's backyard, Oumigawa wiped the sweat dripping from his brow and said to Sakusa, who was washing his hands nearby, "If I can receive your spike, then I can receive Ushijima's too, right?"
Sakusa paused, then replied with a forced smile, "With your strength, stopping Wakatoshi's shot head-on is something you can only dream about."
"What about you? What if I block your spike?"
Only then did Sakusa look him in the eye. The light in Oumigawa's eyes was a confidence and eagerness Sakusa had seen only in old photographs, the passion he once had for fencing now blossoming again through volleyball.
"Then come and try."
[Little notes]
1. The original characters' names were sourced from Baidu, Zhihu, and other sites. Please point out any grammatical errors. Likewise, all my knowledge of fencing comes from the internet.
2. I'll try to stick to the original setting, but Aoba Johsai will make it to the Spring High. That's the main reason I'm writing this.
3. The perspective isn't "switching roles" in the traditional sense. I tend to define who takes the dominant role by how much control each person has in their interactions.
4. My specialty isn't literature, and inspiration doesn't come all the time, so the writing is average and updates are irregular.
5. This story includes, but isn't limited to, romantic portrayals of Iwaizumi and Matsukawa, and of Hanamaki and Oikawa. If that's a dealbreaker for you, please leave right away.
Theme: The young need not fear the passing years; glory still awaits beyond the horizon
Is it going to be updated again? In my lifetime
It's better not to add hiragana, because when many character names appear, the large number of repetitions of hiragana looks a bit tiring _(:3∠ )_
Keep up the good work, the author, and work hard to update (i am watching you ~ write quickly [make me healthy])
I like it so much, come on, madam (? O?)
Is Rouse still updating QAQ [changed] 😭
I wanted to urge an update, so I looked at the author's IP address, and I was silent. Please write slowly.
Go,
Come on!!!!! Looking forward to the following
Looking forward to the next article By the way, is the word "without hesitation" in the copywriting a typo? Seems contextually wrong
The writing is great, cheers (??˙O˙)?
