A Third-Rate Writer in the Detective Conan World

A police academy student named Miki Nobuaki got a golden finger. It was elegant and understated, with an artistic air at first glance, but it rated itself as third-rate. As advertised, it could present literary works with popular themes and all kinds of elements, then create new works from them. The only problem was that it might cram in a few too many elements and cause its user to die of social embarrassment. After a series of not-so-friendly but very real tests, Miki Nobuaki discovered that he and five of his friends were supporting characters in one of those works. The first to die was Hagiwara Kenji, the friend he'd known the longest but had always refused to get close to. Then came Matsuda, Morofushi, Date, and him. Their classmate, the top student Furuya Rei, was left behind to hurry from one grave to another and pay his respects to all five every year. Miki Nobuaki didn't think that was acceptable. Sure, Rei was the top student and seemed to be the strongest overall, so it made sense for him to be the last one standing. But that guy was terrified of being alone. Leaving him as the only one alive, rushing from grave to grave every year, was just too heartbreaking. If they could come back from the dead, Rei would probably become their precious little darling on the very first day, whom they doted on and then dragged off to a psychologist for treatment. So, in order to save himself and the other four, and to spare poor Rei from making the rounds alone every year, Miki Nobuaki had no choice but to take the path he'd given up on a long time ago: becoming a third-rate novelist. Nobuaki plans to write the following stories. There might be more, but there won't be fewer. (I'm not very good, so please be gentle.) [How to Properly Use a Honey Trap], Furuya Rei and his five classmates. [The One You Gaze At], Hagiwara Kenji & Matsuda Jinpei & Miki Nobuaki [A Meeting Beyond Life and Death], Morofushi Hiromitsu & Furuya Rei & Akai Shuichi Miki Nobuaki: My hands tremble as I write.jpg But if it means you won't have to make the rounds every year, I'm sorry, zero! Reader's guide: 1. The police academy group gets saved. The protagonist is the sixth cherry blossom. No pairings. They're all friends and brothers-in-arms. 2. The author has graduated, so updates will be fairly leisurely. 3. The golden finger is a literary creation tool. It's Detective Conan-style logical and illogical at the same time. 4. The blurb is terrible, truly terrible. I can't improve it for now. 5. There may be red-black clashes and chaotic literary works (?). Characters may be out of character. Please don't be too harsh when the time comes (gently). (The cover was drawn by Mr. Y @ July Misty Isle. It's amazing!) Theme: Everyone deserves to pursue a bright future.
