Revenge Can Wait, Let's Go Monster Hunting

Synopsis

Ever since her stepmother married into the Yu family with her son, Shen Shenzhi, Yu Nong's father had no eyes for her.

Shen Shenzhi was a genius with S-rank mental power, and he drew everyone's attention.

He won their father's affection, monopolized the family's resources, got into a good school, and had a bright future ahead of him.

Everyone forgot that before he arrived, Yu Nong had been outstanding too: she had A-rank mental power, studied hard, and earned everyone's praise.

Then he and his mother took her father away from her.

Yu Nong grew jealous of and hated Shen Shenzhi and his mother.

She opposed him at every turn, tore up his textbooks, slashed his backpack, and put something in his porridge while he was away on a mission.

For years, she and her companions took on one mission after another, venturing into the most dangerous places and deep into the lairs of the strange creatures. She wanted to prove herself to her father. So what if Shen Shenzhi was a genius? She was just as good as he was.

She escaped death time and again, until her teammates betrayed her. Wounded in the waist and missing an arm, she died beneath a red mulberry tree.

With blood staining her face, Yu Nong lay there quietly in death, breathtakingly beautiful.

Her spirit saw Shen Shenzhi abandon his teammates and go find her alone. She watched his trembling hands lift her up. She saw him bury her on the sunny hill covered in flowers and grass that she loved most. She watched him, eyes red, stroke her gravestone and choke out, "Nongnong..." She saw him kiss her photograph.

Only then did she realize: he liked her.

Yes, she'd treated him as her lifelong enemy, but he had never made things difficult for her.

In the face of her provocations, he had always been patient and forgiving, always giving way...

Before her spirit vanished, Yu Nong looked back on her life. She had been utterly despicable, as though she'd been handed the script of a wicked female antagonist.

If only she could live her life over again...

If she got another chance, she would stay far away from Shen Shenzhi. Fighting monsters was better than seeking revenge.

Reader's guide:

1. The synopsis isn't the author's strong suit, but the story itself is worth looking forward to.

2. Rebirth, set in an imaginary world.

3. Strange creatures in the apocalypse, not horror.

4. Beautiful heroine.

Theme: Drive out the darkness and run toward the light
