Jing Wu was a notorious great demon. After an accident caused her mind to regress, she was captured and brought to justice by her sworn enemy, Song Jinxi.
The regressed great demon had lost all her memories but retained her powers, so the Special Administration Department began considering recruiting her.
Recruitment meant money, housing, and a marriage alliance.
The Special Administration Department pulled Song Jinxi aside and lied to the demon: "Jing Wu, this is your partner."
The person before Jing Wu seemed strangely familiar. Just looking at her made a powerful emotion surge through Jing Wu's body.
Maybe she really was her partner?
Song Jinxi looked at Mu Jingchun, whose eyes brimmed with murderous intent, and smiled kindly.

Song Jinxi was a well-known smiling tiger in the Special Administration Department, the sort who could con people into working overtime and thanking her for it.
She treated her old sworn enemy no differently, teasing her just as mercilessly.
When she was in a good mood, she'd coax her into blooming. When she was annoyed, she'd bully her until she dropped her leaves.
She was always tricking her into working overtime to boost her performance numbers.
The more time they spent together, the stronger the emotion in Jing Wu's heart became. She asked in confusion, "What is this feeling?"
Song Jinxi said, "Darling, that's love."
-
Only after Jing Wu regained her memories did she realize that feeling was murderous intent. :)
