I, Zhao Qingyang

Xu Tangtang considers herself a fairly accomplished student: she graduated from Qing University with excellent grades and conduct, passed the civil service exam, and was assigned to a remote, fourth-tier snowbound city with no high-speed rail service.

On the day she reported for duty, she rode there alongside a handsome man and complained nonstop about the city, lamenting how unfair her assignment was.

The handsome man didn’t say a word.

Xu Tangtang grew more and more worked up, until she was practically crying as she complained.

It wasn’t until she reached the office that she realized the handsome man who hadn’t said a word was her own department chief.

Xu Tangtang froze on the spot.

[Pampered x Devoted]

- My Sunlit Days, with zhao meaning “to shine”

- The female lead’s family is filthy rich

- Mutual secret crushes

- A small-town workplace romance. They are no longer in a superior-subordinate relationship when they get together

- Content warning: Not recommended for actual civil service trainees. It’s extremely melodramatic and full of landmines. The author’s research may not always match reality, so there’s no need to scrutinize every detail.

- The female lead doesn’t start out as a fully competent workplace pro. Like you and me, she’s an ordinary person who makes mistakes and grows.

Theme: Adding a little sweetness to the grueling workplace
