Oh No, I Picked Up an Injured Man with Amnesia

Xiao Chun was an orphan from Dahe Village, and money was always tight.

One day, she found a handsome man by the river, badly injured and unconscious.

When she was little, her mother had told her: Never pick up a strange man from the roadside. At best, he'll break your heart and hurt you. At worst, he'll destroy your clan and your country. You don't want to be lovestruck.

Xiao Chun thought it over. Then she thought about it some more.

She couldn't afford the big yellow ox she needed to plow her fields...

So Xiao Chun took the man home. She couldn't afford to pay for his treatment, so he had to tough it out on his own. Fortunately, he had a strong will to live and somehow pulled through.

Xiao Chun said, "Your name is Da Niu. I bought you as a slave and saved your life, so from now on, you have to work hard for me. You'll get two meals a day, no wages, and you can only rest for three shichen a day. If you don't work, you don't eat."

Man: "?"

Shadow Guard Ying Yi finally found out where his master was. He sneaked into Xiao Chun's home, secretly looking for a chance to bring his master back to the capital.

Instead, he saw a sun-darkened person who had to get up before dawn to feed the chickens, ducks, and pigs, wash clothes, cook, weave straw sandals, gather medicinal herbs, carry water, farm, cut pigweed... and keep working until the dead of night before they could finally rest.

Ying Yi: ????

Master, you've suffered so much!!!

While his master was up in the mountains gathering herbs, Ying Yi found him and told him the truth.

The man thought it over, then said in a low voice, "Lend me some silver first. Spring is almost here, and I need to buy more seeds."

Ying Yi: ...It's over.

Warnings:

The heroine is naturally honest and straightforward (and a slave owner).

Don't feel sorry for the hero. If you can't handle hardship, don't be the male lead.

Theme: I will always love you.
