How Many Times Has the Moon Waxed and Waned in the Blue Sky?

[Romance Plot]

"If you had two puppies, one very obedient and well-behaved, and the other naughty and disobedient, and you had to choose one to keep, which would you choose?"

"I might choose to keep the disobedient one. The obedient one could find a new owner, but if the disobedient one were driven away, it might end up homeless."

The day Lin Qing left the Long family's North Residence, the rain fell in torrents.

She silently looked toward the door of Long Yanbei's room, remembering how Long Yanbei would always stand there and smile at her. But now the place was empty, with only a tightly shut door and cold, heartless words.

Long Yanbei hadn't even come to see her one last time.

A year later, Lin Qing married into the Long family's North Residence as the Second Madam of the North Residence.

On their wedding night, Lin Qing tied Long Yanbei to a chair and grabbed her by the hair, forcing her to tilt her head back.

Leaning close to Long Yanbei's ear, Lin Qing said coldly, "Miss Bei, am I now the disobedient puppy you want to keep?!"

[Career Plot]

Looking at the mismatched figures in the account books, the meager silver left in the accounts office, and the chaotic state of the properties under their management, Lin Qing's expression darkened completely.

She flung the account books in front of Long Yanbei. "This is how you've been running the household? These are the accounts you've reviewed?!"

She raised her eyes to look at Long Yanbei, who stood silently to the side with her head bowed like a wronged wife, the corners of her eyes red. Lin Qing's feelings were complicated.

She had returned to the North Residence to exact revenge. She had wanted to drive it further into decline and make Long Yanbei, who had once abandoned her, taste what it was like to have nothing. But when Lin Qing saw the state of the North Residence's finances...

Lin Qing rubbed her forehead and had no choice but to shoulder the task of restoring the North Residence to prosperity.

[Official Blurb]

In Kunxi, where farming was the main livelihood, the Long family was an influential noble house, and the North Residence was the most prosperous of its five residences.

Left at the North Residence as a child, Lin Qing had always studied and lived alongside the young lady, Long Yanbei. Having grown up together, she naturally developed feelings for her that went beyond those of a servant for her mistress.

After they differentiated into different secondary genders, Lin Qing became her young mistress's comforter. She always stood behind Long Yanbei, quietly by her side.

But amid the movement for equality, the North Residence was struck by a series of upheavals, and Lin Qing was driven out. The person who made her leave was the woman she had loved and accompanied for fifteen years.

After enduring confusion and helplessness, Lin Qing gradually made a place for herself through her own efforts. She slowly shed her old self and was no longer the silent, unnoticed girl she had once been.

But when she returned to the North Residence as the Second Madam of the North Residence, it was already a shadow of its former prosperous self.

With both hatred and love, Lin Qing and Long Yanbei joined hands. Together, they faced the encroaching forces from outside and the undercurrents within the family. As they worked to restore the North Residence, they also began to uncover secrets that had been hidden for years.

[Main Story] After reconciling, the wives join forces to build their careers, grow bigger and stronger, and reach new heights!
