Playing Cat and Mouse

Science fiction series

Includes the short story collection Counting Stars

"This world is awful, and tomorrow won't be any better. The City in the Sky blocks out the sky, and we can't even see the stars. But I remember what the stars look like. I'll find them."

I may not finish the long post-apocalyptic mystery novel Hiding from the Cat. Maybe I'll put it up here once it's done.

[Blurb]

Xi Qi: What's your name?

Lin Yin: ...

Xi Qi: Is your cat a robot cat or a real cat?

Lin Yin: ...

Xi Qi: Are you stupid?

Lin Yin: ...You...

Xi Qi: Me?

Lin Yin: You're... the stupid one.

Xi Qi: Hello? Emergency services? An un-censored human has been spotted at 87° east longitude, 43° north latitude. Send backup immediately!

Xi Qi grabbed Lin Yin as he turned to leave and snapped a pair of handcuffs around his wrist. "You little stutterer, you're under arrest."

- Set in an imagined future. The science fiction concepts are all made up by the author for the sake of the plot.

- Short-tempered mechanic Xi Qi (top) x adorable, absent-minded analyst Lin Yin (bottom)

- No aliens, just robots and mutants tinkered together by humans

- I'm just writing for fun. Take it as a bit of entertainment. No need to scrutinize it too closely...
