1.
Yu Ranxing and Ye Jing have been sworn enemies for years.
But in a miserable twist of fate, their families arrange a marriage, and Yu Ranxing has no choice but to enter into a marriage agreement with Ye Jing.
After the wedding, they live together but agree not to interfere with each other and to avoid crossing paths as much as possible.
As time passes, Yu Ranxing starts to feel too constrained and decides to get a divorce as soon as she can.
She arranges to have dinner with a few young celebrities and deliberately calls the paparazzi. The next day, she’s all over the headlines.
The scandal gets a little out of hand. The next day, both sets of parents summon Yu Ranxing and Ye Jing to answer for themselves.
Yu Ranxing runs into Ye Jing outside. His expression is dark, and even his usually upturned phoenix eyes narrow, as if spending one more second with her is unbearable.
Yu Ranxing arrives before their parents, sniffling as she puts on a performance.
“I didn’t go looking for pretty young celebrities to have fun with. Ye Jing hates me. He uses work as an excuse every day, and I can’t even see him. He wants to divorce me.”
Yu Ranxing is waiting for Ye Jing to ask for a divorce, but in the next moment, he abandons his usual coldness, raises a hand to wipe away her tears, and says in a cool, languid voice so tender it could melt anyone, “Baby, how could I ever hate you? I’ll spend every day with you from now on. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t divorce you even if I died.”
“...”
After her divorce attempt fails, Yu Ranxing finds Ye Jing even more annoying.
They attend a charity gala together.
As the Ye family heir, Ye Jing is surrounded by high society. A single glimpse of his profile is enough to captivate everyone. Annoyed by the noise, Yu Ranxing hides in a quiet corner with her friend.
Her friend watches Ye Jing and sighs. “How can you not be tempted by such a treasure?”
Yu Ranxing makes up an answer on the spot. “I’ve been celibate for three months of marriage. He’s pretty to look at, but useless in bed.”
Her friend’s regretful expression instantly turns to sympathy.
That night, Yu Ranxing goes back to her room as usual, but the door won’t close.
She stares at the hand braced against it, the veins faintly standing out.
Ye Jing asks coldly, “What did you mean by what you just said?”
Since he heard her, Yu Ranxing decides to needle him. “If you can’t stand it, then divorce me.”
Before she can finish, Yu Ranxing is pinned against the door.
After a night of passion,
The flush hasn’t faded from Yu Ranxing’s face, but she says shamelessly, “It was just a one-time mistake.”
Ye Jing’s long arm circles her as he points his slender fingers at the trash can on the floor. “One time? Do you want me to count for you?”
Yu Ranxing: “...”
That dog of a man used his charms to seduce her.
A year later, when their agreement expires, Yu Ranxing goes to find Ye Jing to arrange their divorce.
He’s drinking with friends.
“Ah Jing, did you know? The Yu family’s young heiress is going around saying she was only playing with you. She’s urging you to divorce her.”
Ye Jing swirls the red wine in his glass, unable to hide the smug look on his handsome face. “What would you know? I’ve loved her for ten years. I’m perfectly happy to let her play with me.”
Yu Ranxing: “...”
Years later, Yu Ranxing happens upon two movie tickets tucked inside the yearbook Ye Jing signed for her in high school.
They’re for Shunji Iwai’s Love Letter.
In Ye Jing’s handwriting, it says: “The dragon should hide among the clouds, and the stars hide in my heart.”
Yu Ranxing suddenly understands that the refined young man from years ago had been stealing countless glances at her from the corner of his eye, pretending not to notice her.
The line “The dragon should hide among the clouds” comes from Shen Congwen’s A Moonlit Scene.

Reunion after years apart / Rekindled love / The hero pursues his wife to win her back
Cold on the outside, flirtatious underneath x a spoiled little drama queen
1.
Everyone who knows Yan Zhenzhen knows she’s spoiled, willful, and wild.
Until one day she meets Fu Chen and is struck by his looks.
Then she transforms into a delicate, pampered princess who seems liable to break if you so much as touch her.
Actually, Yan Zhenzhen is a sucker for good looks. She pursues whoever she finds handsome.
As luck would have it, Fu Chen is the most handsome man around her.
She calls him “big brother” in the sweetest voice.
She pretends to be a quiet, demure lady at his side.
She thinks they both understand their feelings and are just waiting for him to confess.
She waits until her twentieth birthday, but after a whole day and night, he still hasn’t shown up.
Yan Zhenzhen suddenly feels a little bored.
She turns around and starts making arrangements to study abroad.
She dyes her long, straight black hair misty blue and trades her ladylike outfits for tall boots and leather pants, returning to her usual bold, carefree self.
Then, before boarding her flight, she sends him a breakup text.
“I was only playing around with you. Don’t take it seriously.”
2.
The youngest promising lawyer at the firm, Fu Chen is aloof and knows nothing of romance. He’s clever enough to see through people’s thoughts, yet no one can get close to him.
His colleagues joke that he’s heartless.
But who knows that even clever Fu Chen was once cruelly deceived?
A girl with a porcelain-doll face and a sweet voice vanished without a trace overnight.
When he sees Yan Zhenzhen again, he thinks he must be dreaming.
It’s at a mixer. She’s sitting across from him, her beautiful face wearing a careless, critical expression. “I’m getting a little tired of this kind of look.”
Then she turns to the man beside him and smiles sweetly. “Handsome, you’re exactly my type.”
The two of them hit it off, while Fu Chen’s face remains as refined and stern as ever.
Halfway through, Yan Zhenzhen goes to the restroom and doesn’t return for a long time.
Fu Chen disappears along with her.
An hour later, their colleagues see them return one after another and perk up their ears.
Yan Zhenzhen’s cheeks are flushed, and the color has faded from her red lips. In a breathy voice, she complains, “Liar. You said ten minutes, and then we’d be even.”
Fu Chen’s expression is cool. He raises a hand, wipes the red from the corner of his lips with his slender fingers, and says unhurriedly, “I said you’d have to spend your whole life making it up to me for deceiving me once.”
The next day, gossip starts spreading around the firm: “Lawyer Fu’s house is on fire, the kind that’s beyond saving.”
From the beginning, I knew that every kind of person I liked was you.
Note: Rekindled love, childhood friends, an unconventional pursuit to win her back. Blurb to be revised.
