I Have the Buddha's Egg

Bai Yu is a pure white little snake who loves the tale of The Legend of the White Snake. He hopes that one day he'll meet his own Xu Xian. Snake Clan Elder: Wake up. You're male. What Bai Yu hates most is Fahai, the monk in the tale who broke up a couple. That makes him dislike all monks, too. But then a group of monks suddenly settled near his home. They built a temple, offered incense, and put down roots. Furious, Bai Yu slapped his tail against the ground and went to bother the monks every few days, making life difficult for them. One day, he went to the temple to cause trouble, and unexpectedly came across a monk. The man was beautiful, with a compassionate expression and robes draped over his shoulders. Standing before a bronze incense burner, he seemed almost celestial. Bai Yu was stunned. The monk spotted the little white snake curled up on the corridor, cute and charming. He cradled him with fingers scented with sandalwood and released him back into the mountains. Bai Yu drifted home in a daze, remembering only those eyes like black jade, those long, pale fingers, and the mingled scent of sandalwood and incense. The next day, Bai Yu discovered he had laid an egg. A clear Buddhist seal was imprinted on its shell. The blurb will be revised later. Theme: Haven't thought of one yet
