If you have a skill, you should save lives and help the world...
Su Yuejian wakes from a coma to find herself an abandoned baby in ancient times? Luckily, a kindhearted person finds her and raises her!
Her life in ancient times is fairly smooth sailing until she turns seventeen.
But perhaps Heaven thinks she's had it too easy, because it takes everything from her.
After returning home from gathering herbs at the age of seventeen, she finds the residence silent. Fires flicker here and there, and not a single person in the household has survived. All the evidence points to the imperial palace.
Su Yuejian resolves to take revenge and enters the palace as an imperial physician.
Finding the mastermind proves difficult, but she makes use of every connection she has, carefully searching for the culprit until she can finally avenge herself.
When an epidemic runs rampant and the whole nation is powerless to stop it, she uses her medical System and years of study to develop a cure, saving the people from the epidemic's terrible grip. The people adore her.
The court is overjoyed as well. Su Yuejian becomes an imperial physician and the highest-ranking official in the Imperial Medical Academy.
But when an official arrives to deliver an imperial commendation and hails the playboy who's been following her around everywhere as "Your Majesty," Su Yuejian stares at him in confusion. "You're the emperor??? So you've been lying to me this whole time???"
Huang Xuanming looks aggrieved. "My dear subject, let me explain myself!!!"
Su Yuejian scoffs and makes a quick escape.
But in this line of work, living in the palace as an imperial physician, how much freedom of choice can she really have?
From then on, the hale and hearty playboy becomes a sickly, needy emperor.
"My dear Su, my chest feels tight and I can't breathe properly. Take my pulse at once."
"My dear Su, my lovesickness has flared up again! Come save me!!!"
Su Yuejian smiles knowingly and takes out a few silver needles. The emperor tries to run away? Not a chance!
She grabs the emperor, who has recovered in an instant, and jabs him with a needle. "Ha! Nice try! You may be sick, but I've got needles!"
While investigating enemy spies from a foreign nation, Huang Xuanming is injured by accident and gets separated from his men. When he presses a knife against her neck with a sinister look, he never expects the person before him to calmly treat his wounds.
But before he can even thank her, she has already slipped away with a clever trick.
Later, he discovers that a new doctor who has recently joined the palace looks remarkably like her.
After testing "him" again and again, and repeatedly ordering "him" to accompany him on patrols, he finally catches "him" slipping. As "he" treats his wound, she mutters angrily, "You really are the luckiest man alive. You got stabbed in this exact spot again."
Huang Xuanming drops his playful act. At last, the heart he'd kept suspended settles. He bends close and whispers in her ear, "Look, even when we get hurt, it's in the same spot. We really are made for each other."
"Su Yuejian, don't you agree?"
PS: One time, they both fell into a cave.
Huang Xuanming's eyes redden at the corners as he pins Su Yuejian against the wall, her hair having fallen loose by accident. His voice trembles as he asks softly, "Su Yuejian, when will you finally admit you love me?"
