Coming soon: Novel blurb Yan Gui, the youngest daughter of the Zhou family, was one of the compound's notorious "Five Menaces." That was what other people called them, of course. The Five Menaces called themselves the "Five Musketeers." As a child, she teased cats and dogs. By the time she was just over ten, she was causing trouble every day with a few of the compound's young delinquents. Everyone thought that if she kept going like this, she might grow from a "compound pest" into a "public menace." So parents used her as a cautionary tale when lecturing their kids. Then one day, "Zhou the Pest" announced that she was done causing trouble. Zhou Yangui: Time waits for no one. I'm going to turn over a new leaf and devote myself to the great cause of building our motherland. Zhou's parents: What on earth happened to our child? The other Menaces: Who beat her senseless? We have to get even! Everyone in the compound: Don't tell me she's getting carried away. And then Zhou Yangui really did sail through every challenge and devote herself to the great cause of building the motherland! She'd just received an acceptance letter from the country's top university when she transmigrated to the 1970s. Yan Gui thought nothing could be more tragic. But something even worse was waiting for her. She'd transmigrated as a supporting character in a Mary Sue novel, and as the compound's resident "pest," she was destined to be cannon fodder. Yan Gui thought she could still turn things around. But Yan Hui, who believed in "lay low and don't show off," went a little too far. When she looked back, she suddenly realized the plot had somehow veered thousands of miles off course. But who cared? Theme: Study hard and improve every day.
