There is a country called the Great Ming Empire. It is a free land, one everyone yearns for. Every person here has an ability called an Element, which comes in many forms: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Space, Darkness, Light, Summoning, Time, and Deep Sea.
The people of this country also have guardian spirits. Each guardian spirit has its own will and consciousness, and can feel emotions. They can find partners, and cannot be controlled by others. Every guardian spirit is different, yet shares certain traits with the others. A guardian spirit and the person it protects are one. If someone forcibly takes a guardian spirit away, its original owner will die.
This country is not truly peaceful, either. One faction, the Holy Spirit Cult, is an evil cult that uses human flesh and blood to increase its power.
