After Leaving the Entertainment Industry: I Went to Save the Animal World 1 In his previous life, Jiang Shi worked in wildlife rescue. He spent his whole life trying to save wild animals and stop poaching. He died at the hands of poachers after one careless mistake. When he woke up, he discovered he'd transmigrated into a notoriously scandal-ridden, D-list celebrity in the entertainment industry, someone so insignificant even a 38th-tier star could step on him. Jiang Shi looked at the flood of comments on Weibo telling him to get out of show business, then glanced out the window at a little bird speaking human words. This was a little surreal. He asked uncertainly, “What are you saying?” The bird flapped a wing. “I said, you poor thing. I just heard the two people next door discussing how to send you to someone else's bed... Ah!!! How can you understand me?! Mom, there's a monster here!” The bird flew off, wobbling all over the place. Jiang Shi remembered that his manager's office was next door... and promptly started packing his things. “I'm out of here!” After discovering that his transmigration had come with the golden finger skill of understanding animal languages, Jiang Shi promptly joined a rare animal rescue center and became an honorable wildlife conservation worker. From towering mountains and vast seas to snowy peaks and plateaus, from the Antarctic to the Arctic, he could be found in all kinds of places untouched by humans. He rescued a newborn giant panda abandoned on Wolong Snow Mountain; chatted with the old golden snub-nosed monkey king in the Qinling Mountains, who had given up on life after losing a succession struggle; slept in the same tree as a majestic forest animal in the Amazon rainforest; and counted stars with a family of Tibetan foxes... 2 Jiang Shi was going to appear on a livestream variety show where the contestants worked as zookeepers. The other guests included a D-list influencer who had smeared him, a low-tier actress who had spread sexual rumors about him, and a young director who had publicly accused him of having bad intentions... Jiang Shi: ... This wasn't a livestream. It was a trap set for him! When the livestream began, the other guests' fans spread the word and showed up to insult him. They told him not to drag their idols down, while looking forward to Jiang Shi making a fool of himself again and becoming a laughingstock across the internet. But it didn't take long for everyone to notice that Jiang Shi was always the one who completed the tasks best. The animals tormented the other guests until they could barely stand it, but the moment Jiang Shi appeared, they all behaved perfectly. An eight-meter python cuddled up to him. The most ill-tempered lion curled up in his arms and begged for attention. A tiger that had just been rescued even let Jiang Shi stroke its tail while it ate... The country's first national-level rare wildlife rescue center issued a public statement in support of him: “All the false statements being made online about our center's director, @JiangShiIsNotAJiang, will be subject to legal action. We have already reported this to the police and submitted evidence. Please conduct yourselves accordingly.” Everyone else: ???? When did he pass the civil service exam?! Before long, fans across the entertainment industry realized that Jiang Shi, the obscure D-list celebrity, had disappeared. In his place was Jiang Shi, appearing on television channels across the country; sought after by major wildlife conservation centers; hailed as a national young talent; invited by CCTV to serve as a “Wildlife Conservation Ambassador”; and even representing nature at the country's highest halls of state. Between humanity and nature, he is the translator. Theme: Serve the people and contribute to society.
