(The setup has some problems. I'm revising it...)
Lu Lingyu is the leader of the Huaxia martial arts world and the number-one interstellar idol, on the verge of her debut.
But before debuting, everyone has to act out a melodramatic xianxia novel. She gets the worst character in the whole cast: a stupid, wicked supporting female character who takes a blade for the male lead and is about to be cut down by eighty-one sword strikes.
She knows the script was chosen by her rival's sugar daddy.
As if I'd act according to your script!
Lu Lingyu looks at the male lead's familiar face. Damn, isn't that her rival?
She turns around and joins the group attacking him. "Everyone, move aside. I'll handle this!"
When she should be cowering and urging others to go die in her place, she charges against the tide with her sword, unleashing a dazzling flurry of moves that blinds everyone.
When she should die by the male lead's sword for causing the female lead to jump off a cliff, she kicks the male lead off the cliff first, then scoops up the female lead. "I told you, that bastard can't be trusted."
To steal the spotlight, Lu Lingyu points her sword at the tallest peak of Shangling Sect. "I want the position of sect leader."
Shangling Sect: "A good-for-nothing with five spiritual roots dares to dream."
Later, an unknown sect rises out of nowhere, gathers countless followers, surpasses Shangling Sect, and sweeps all before it.
Lu Lingyu holds a lecture to introduce Huaxia martial arts to her audience, but the cultivation world fights so fiercely over tickets that the sky grows dark and the earth shakes.
Lu Lingyu: "Did fans from outside the venue sneak in?"
What she doesn't know is that she really has transmigrated.
With the clichéd couples around her getting more and more attention, Lu Lingyu panics. She needs to find a partner to grab some of that spotlight.
Her gaze falls on the demon god Phoenix, who has been cast as the villainous second male lead. "Isn't this character way cooler than the male lead?"
After a romantic moonlit evening, Lu Lingyu says, "That wasn't your first kiss, was it? Don't look so surprised. We're going to be acting together from now on. Kissing scenes are totally normal."
"You lied to me?" Ji Changxi's eyes still hold traces of fading affection, and suddenly his voice turns so intense it seems to drip with blood. "Then do you know that a phoenix can only have one mate in its entire life?"
Lu Lingyu is startled by his gaze and, for the first time, fails to stay in character. "Dude, your acting is pretty good."
He closes in, trapping her in layers of confinement. "Soon, I'll make you understand whether I'm acting or not."
Lu Lingyu's eyes light up. A confinement scene? What an exciting plot!
She puts on a show of resistance, then secretly gives him a meaningful look. "What are you waiting for? Go on!"
Ji Changxi: "...?"
