When Gu Xiaoman was six, she made a wish: she hoped to grow up and become a princess!
When she was twenty-six, she really did transmigrate into a princess, but her species had changed. She had become a princess with a fish tail.
The famous Little Mermaid, the tragic mermaid princess.
To win a human's love and gain an immortal soul, she fell in love with a human prince. For him, she gave up her voice, her tail, and her family. But her devotion failed to move the prince. She could only watch as the man she loved married a princess from another kingdom, while she herself lost her life.
Recalling the plot, Gu Xiaoman said she was deeply moved, but had to decline.
Mermaids live so long, and she was the sea king's most beloved youngest daughter. Wouldn't it be better to just live happily?
To avoid the original Little Mermaid's similar fate, Gu Xiaoman went all in on the flashy decorations the original heroine disliked!
When the original Little Mermaid's beloved grandmother wanted to tell her the human stories she loved so much, Gu Xiaoman said, "I can tell you a whole basketful of human stories!"
She stayed far away from any place where she might encounter humans, and when storm season came, she simply never went outside.
She thought she'd finally avoided trouble, until she woke up to find herself caught in a net and hauled ashore. A voice sounded excitedly in the distance: "Your Highness, what a big catch!"
