Lain slips into an inconspicuous internet cafe.
The man huddled behind a leather chair lifts his eyelids. The girl is thin and slight, her peacock-feather dress soaked and clinging to her body. Only her eyes are both timid and determined.
He closes his eyes again and lazily points her the way. "The playground is next door."

Headlights glare, while a black umbrella shields her from the feathery snow.
The man who steps out of the car is elegant and proud. He looks down at her and laughs coldly. "I've found you again, kid."
