(Upcoming fantasy novel)
Pu Zhizhi was a blade of grass in the Three Thousand Realms, and the only little monster to have passed the transformation stage without gaining a trace of demonic power. To find food, she had no choice but to leave the realm in search of moon dew. She never expected a giant eagle to mistake her for food, snatch her up, and drop her into a frigid pool in a mountain ravine.
A young man was in the water, with brows like distant mountains and three thousand strands of black hair. He was breathtakingly beautiful.
As it turned out, this frigid pool was the bathing pool of an Immortal Venerable.
Though the Immortal Venerable was aloof and cold, he treated her very well. He not only took her as his disciple, but also taught her cultivation techniques. Pu Zhizhi paid her respects every morning and evening, and never forgot to pay her respects each day to her master's late wife, either.
Until one day, she rescued a blind boy by a canal. To treat his eyes, she gathered medicinal herbs for him atop a snowy mountain. To help him cultivate, she even gave him the precious blood from her heart. But the first time he saw her, he plunged his sword into her chest without mercy.
He said to the woman beside him, "The immortal grass blood in her can cure your frail constitution, Wanwan."
Only then did Pu Zhizhi understand that if you tore away the supposed devotion, all that remained was the ugliness hidden beneath the disguise.
A short scene:
On the Judgment Platform, Pu Zhizhi's meridians were crushed, and she was covered in blood. Not one disciple in the courtyard came to her aid. Then, beneath the dark clouds, a beam of white light suddenly split the sky. The Immortal Venerable, who had never shown his emotions, lost his composure for the first time. With one hand, he crushed the bones of the person who had hurt her. His voice was cold as ice as he revealed a secret buried for a thousand years.
"A thousand years ago, it was she who gave you her soul to save your lives."
The elders were filled with regret: So the person we tried to kill back then was actually our savior?
The disciples trembled in fear: So the person we cast aside back then was actually our master's wife?
Pu Zhizhi stared at the sky in bewilderment: So the person I've been paying respects to every day was... me?
Legend has it that Zhan Yunxu, lord of the Immortal Court, refused to ascend to the Divine Realm for three thousand years. He crossed mountains and rivers and searched from the highest heavens to the depths of the underworld, all to find his betrothed, who had died young.
Theme: Love can move mountains and seas.
