The Fisherman's Seasonal Delicacies

Blurb: When the blue waters of Wanghai turned red with rampant algae blooms, fish and shrimp floated belly-up, and Haipu Town gradually fell into decline. The fishing folk could barely make ends meet. Jiang Yingzhi, head chef at a seafood restaurant, lost her job. Heartbroken and at a loss, she prayed to the Sea Goddess to restore Wanghai to the way it used to be. The next day, she transmigrated to Haipu Town a century earlier, in the late Ming Dynasty, and saw Wanghai as it once was. The water was clear, and fish were plentiful: hairtail, small yellow croaker, squid, chub mackerel, horse mackerel, mantis shrimp, swimming crabs… To Jiang Yingzhi's delight, the fishing seasons that had long vanished were still going strong here. The small yellow croaker season arrived around the spring equinox, giving way to large yellow croaker in summer, while winter was the peak season for hairtail. She also gained a new identity and a younger brother and sister. Picking up her old trade, she began making a living from the sea and selling food at a stall. She started out selling steamed seafood from a simple shrimp stove, living in a crude fisherman's hut. Later, she got her own fishing shack, traded a small boat for a large cargo vessel, and eventually rented a multi-story tower in town, hanging up an old sign: Four Seasons Fresh.
