Yuan Jingyi, Princess Yongjia of the Southern Chu Kingdom, was the beloved daughter of Emperor Zhezong and the half-sister of Emperor Zhaozong. Her mother was Noble Consort Jin. She was first betrothed to Han Xu, son of Han Guang, Minister of the Court of State Ceremonial, but the marriage did not take place.
In the fortieth year of the Qingcheng era of Chu, Emperor Zhezong passed away. Wei coerced Chu and demanded the princess as a hostage, sending her far away to a foreign land. The princess was solitary by nature, quiet and reserved. She was later married to the Prince of Linzi, a nephew of Wei's Emperor Mingzong, and bore one daughter, who was given the title of Lady Qixia.
In the thirty-second year of Wei's Jingchun era, the couple separated. In the same year, Lady Qixia died. In the forty-first year of Jingchun, the princess returned to her homeland.
