During the war between immortals and demons a thousand years ago, the Heavenly Lord perished. The God Qiongyue, who shared his name, led a million celestial soldiers in driving back the demon army. While clearing the battlefield, they discovered that, at the brink of death, the Demon Lord had seized an opportunity to send a fragment of his soul into the orphaned child of an immortal ally. The God Qiongyue found the child and personally killed them, annihilating their soul. Later, sensing that the mortal world was in danger, he descended to undergo a trial.
