After I Transmigrate into a Book, I Compete with the Heroine for the White Moonlight

Shen Shijie accidentally transmigrates into a book as a cannon-fodder female supporting character. The book is unfinished and the System is unreliable, so, drawing on her extensive experience, she concludes that this must be a rebirth-and-revenge power fantasy.

In the original story, the scumbag male lead emotionally abuses his wife, neglecting her throughout her pregnancy until the heroine, Xie Tingyi, dies of blood loss in the delivery room. After being reborn, the heroine intends to torment the scumbag male lead in every way. But the scumbag happens to have a softhearted younger sister who secretly protects him. This younger sister is also the beloved person Xie Tingyi dreams of day and night after being reborn, the one person she could never bring herself to hurt.

To get home, Shen Shijie has to bring the novel to its conclusion. The shortcut to finishing it quickly is...

Shen Shijie waves a hand. "Go ahead and do whatever you want. I'll take care of your beloved."

Every scheme proceeds perfectly, but the "beloved" she has "taken care of" seems docile and cooperative on the surface, while full of suspicion underneath, luring her deeper into the trap.

Shen Shijie says tenderly, "I like you."

Zhou Zhijuan replies just as tenderly, "I like you too."

Shen Shijie lowers her eyes and takes a deep breath before finally managing to say, "I... I like you."

Zhou Zhijuan's face is filled with a cold, distant smile. "Confessing is your right. Rejecting you is my choice."

Shen Shijie is utterly humiliated and collapses limply to the floor, yet still tries to grab the other woman's sleeve. In a careful, pleading voice, she asks, "...Can I like you?"

Zhou Zhijuan is silent. After a long while, she slowly says, "I don't recommend doing that. We're not right for each other."

Shen Shijie fidgets, hesitating to speak. "...Um, I..."

Zhou Zhijuan finally loses patience and pushes her down. "Shut up! You idiot!!"

A few things to keep in mind:

* The characters may sometimes misjudge things or choose to lie, so please keep your own perspective.

* The scumbag male lead will not get a happy ending. He's just a plot device to move the story along.

* HE ending. Good deeds are rewarded, and evil deeds are repaid in kind~

* Includes love rivals and a groveling arc.
