Matsuda Maki was called the hope of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Everyone could see his talent and hard work, his courage and resolve.

The people who should have lived only in memories were saved by Matsuda Maki, quite by accident.

Even when he ultimately sacrificed himself, he had no regrets.

After his death, there was a boy named Tanjiro, burning as brightly as a flame.

In him, one could make out a faint resemblance to Matsuda Maki.

Tanjiro often heard his seniors talk about Matsuda Maki. Listening to his stories, he looked forward to becoming a better person.

Then one day, a dramatic event took everyone by surprise.

Matsuda Maki had returned, and he had forgotten them.

Most importantly... he had become a demon.
