Mo Wen is a well-known paranormal daredevil blogger on a certain platform. He livestreams in haunted houses and forbidden zones, earning the nickname "the underworld's fugitive civil servant."

One night, he boldly enters an abandoned cabin in the woods as usual. His livestream suddenly goes black, and when he opens his eyes again...

His pig-headed coworker greets him warmly. A red-clad ghost senior hands him a dress and announces, "Congratulations on joining the 'Horrifying Dimension' as a horror NPC! You're a temporary employee with no benefits, but the pay's better than what you make scamming viewers on your livestreams."

To stay alive (and because the pay really is good), he has no choice but to put on a secret identity and diligently play a helpless little flower, a chainsaw maniac, a castle ghost, and more in one horror stage after another, all to give players the most "surprising" experience possible.
