A Pretty Little Flirt in the 1980s

[A sweet-talking schemer x a reserved, abstinent engineer]

Yan Shishi transmigrated into a period novel.

Her original body's owner had gone to the city to find her betrothed, but he was devoted to research and had no interest in romance. He gave her some money and put her on a train home.

Then the original body owner died in an accident on the way back.

So, just before the doors closed, Yan Shishi jumped off the train.

She rushed up to the research big shot, eyes brimming with tears. "Big Brother! I want to study and devote myself to science, just like you!"

Jiang Zhen was young, handsome, and successful, but his routine was nothing but the research institute, the dormitory, and the cafeteria. The women at work never got the chance to be alone with him.

Until one day, Jiang Zhen left work right on time for the first time ever.

According to someone in the know, Engineer Jiang was going to tutor a young woman from the countryside.

The little girl had snowy skin and rosy cheeks, and was prettier than a flower, though her grades were a bit poor.

Engineer Jiang was always strict. He criticized his subordinates harshly over the smallest mistakes, so the poor girl was probably in for a scolding!

But who could have guessed...

"Big Brother, you came to tutor me instead of working overtime again. Won't your boss get mad when he finds out?"

"No. I'm the head of the research institute."

"Big Brother, you turned down a date to tutor me. Won't the ladies get jealous?"

"No. I'm not close with them."

"Big Brother, I didn't get a perfect score again. Don't you think I'm stupid?"

"No. You got sixty, one point more than last time. That's a huge improvement."

Six months later, someone saw this near Z University:

Engineer Jiang, normally so reserved and abstinent, had bloodshot eyes as he cornered the young woman against a wall. "Yan Shishi, isn't having me as your only big brother enough?"

Thesis: A brave girl fears no hardship.
