Emperor Taizong of Qing, of the Manchu Aisin Gioro clan, was named Huang Taiji. He was the eighth son of Nurhaci, the Great Ancestor, and the second ruler of Later Jin. In the fourth month of the tenth year (1630), he ascended the throne as emperor in what is now Shenyang, founded the Great Qing, and changed the era name to Chongde.
Soon afterward, the gateway for the Manchus to enter the Central Plains was opened. This horseback-riding people officially began roaming the vast, fertile lands of the Central Plains. Naturally, the people who had originally lived there would not give in easily, so conflicts arose. They could not openly resist, but they were constantly up to little tricks. For instance, they would pour night soil at government offices, shops would sell Manchus shoddy goods, and people would discriminate against them. Such things may seem perfectly normal today, but in an era when the country could change hands at any moment, social problems became political ones. Unsurprisingly, the people of the Central Plains were despised. Then came the literary inquisitions. People learned to think twice before speaking, and the orders to shave their heads and change their clothes were enforced. Half of the hair people had worn for centuries was suddenly gone.
Our story begins here.
"Master, Hu Lai Medical Clinic is here." Ah Fu reminded in a low voice. "Afu, you go back home first. I will drive back later and tell my wife." The current situation is really not suitable for more people to know, Mo Ting said while looking at the woman in his arms. "Yes, Master." Although Ah Fu had doubts in his heart, he did not dare to ask any more questions and stepped back. Mo Ting opened the curtain, sat on the driving seat, and drove the carriage to the backyard of Hu Lai Medical Center. Knocking rhythmically on the door of the backyard, the exquisitely carved wooden door was opened from the inside, and two cute boys, a man and a woman, appeared and greeted Mo Ting respectfully. "Hey, why did you come to my place free today and go through the back door!" Hu Lai said jokingly. "Rescue people first and then talk about it." Mo Ting hugged the woman from the carriage. "You! Haha, boy, you can't see it!" Hu Lai said in a hurry. "Not relatives, not friends." Mo Ting said calmly. "Then why should I save him?" Hu Lai asked, raising his eyebrows. "If I say that saving a life is better than building a seven-level pagoda, will it work for you? Just save her and then talk about it." Ignoring Hu Lai's question, he carried the woman into the house and placed her on the soft couch. "You know I don't save strangers." Hu Lai followed Mo Tingting reluctantly. "After rescuing her, she's no longer a stranger. Please help her quickly. It's probably a trauma. I'm going out first." Continue to ignore... "Hey, you—" Looking at Mo Ting disappearing outside the door, Hu Lai reluctantly turned his attention to the woman on the soft couch. Due to excessive blood loss, the woman's face was a little pale. Her delicate and plump forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat due to pain. "You know how to 'accumulate merit' for me in just one day!" Hu Lai muttered dissatisfiedly, but his hands began to flexibly check the woman's wounds. He took his treasure medicine box and packed the woman's wound, then called the servant (female) to wipe the woman's body. He walked leisurely to Mo Ting in the back garden. "How is her injury?" Mo Ting was tasting the new Yuqian Longjing that he brought last time. He took a sip calmly before turning to Hu Lai, who looked suffocated. "You can't die from skin injuries. I said, if you want to help me accumulate merit next time, you will be seriously injured and will die. Don't tarnish my reputation with such a small injury, okay?" Thinking that this woman was only scratched on the shoulder by a sharp object and fainted due to excessive blood loss, I felt that I was overqualified. "Well, I'll go back home first." Mo Ting said and prepared to walk out. "Hey, what should I do with that woman? You picked her up!" Hu Lai became anxious when he saw Mo Ting acting like it had nothing to do with him. He is most afraid of trouble, and women are the number one trouble in his eyes! "She will leave on her own when she wakes up. You don't have to worry, unless you want to find your own 'method' to keep her!" Mo Ting looked calm. "Hmph, my 'method' won't be used on a yellow-haired girl like this - it's a waste!" Hu Lai retorted unwillingly. "Haha, I'll take my leave then!" "No!" Hu Lai glared angrily at the place where Mo Ting disappeared, then turned to look at the room where the woman lived in disgust. After beckoning the servant to give instructions, he dived into his "laboratory".
