"Hello, everyone. I'm Yin Man. I live in the twelfth fully furnished apartment on the right after entering the corridor at Epang Palace, south of the Wei River."
"I have two things to report. One is good news, and one is bad news."
"The good news is that my dad is Ying Zheng, so I was born a princess of Great Qin. After six generations of intense family competition, my dad finally became the First Emperor, and I was elevated to princess of the realm. For the past twenty-odd years, I've never wanted for food or drink, and I've been decked in gold and silver. The bad news is..."
"Great Qin fell yesterday."
A story with a strong female lead, starring Yin Man.
A sharp-witted, black-hearted, wisecracking princess of Great Qin X a seemingly mild-mannered but secretly devious minor official. They investigate cases, conduct interrogations, and watch all manner of legendary figures fight for supremacy between Qin and Han.
There's not much romance or sweetness. The story unfolds from the heroine's perspective, and the hero appears later. All he wants is to slack off and collect his paycheck. Once the two get to know each other, they hit it off, fleeing as remnants of the previous dynasty while observing every aspect of the world around them.
A series of standalone stories. The cases are all based on excavated Qin-era records (Four Types of Prison Reports + The Book of Reports and Trials + ?). If there are any copyright issues, I suggest offering a stick of incense to the minor officials who painstakingly copied those documents back then.
Warning: high concentration of dark humor. Warning: heavy use of Spring and Autumn-style historical writing. Whatever comes to mind as you read is what it is. I have to write this down, or unspoken feelings might give me breast nodules.
Once the story begins, updates will come in batches, one complete arc at a time. If you're interested, I hope you'll add it to your reading list in advance!
Theme: The Han overthrew Qin, then Han became Qin. Will future generations mourn them?
