A Farmer's Daily Struggle for the Imperial Exams

[Recent updates are for revisions. Today's progress: "1"] 1. Chen Yan transmigrates. He arrives in an ancient peasant family at the bottom of society, where he sees displaced people lying dead in the streets and neighbors dying from illness while performing corvee labor. In this age, human life is as worthless as grass. Chen Yan doesn't want to drift like duckweed, with his life or death left to fate. The road to the imperial examinations is dangerous and difficult, but Chen Yan never wavers. From a farm boy in the morning to a place in the emperor's court by evening, riding through the streets in triumph, joining hands with a wise ruler to create an age of peace and prosperity and earn everlasting fame. 2. Chen Yan discovers that life in ancient times doesn't have to be miserable. He sleeps on a high bed with soft pillows; in the morning, he has shrimp wontons, and when thirsty, he drinks wine brewed with clear spring water. Once in a while, he enjoys an imperial feast in the capital so delicious it makes his eyebrows fly off. When summer gets too hot, he uses as much ice as he likes. When winter turns cold, he has a fluffy vest and smokeless silver-thread charcoal. Here, there are countless pavilions and towers, misty rain in Jiangnan, and endless sights of the northern frontier. You can set off on a whim and make a few friends who share your deepest confidences and dare to discuss the fate of the world. On one condition: You have money and power. Peasant boy Chen Yan: For the sake of a better life, let's work hard and pass the imperial examinations! P.S. This is a fictional imperial examination story, drawing on the examination systems of the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties. 1. Half slice-of-life and half imperial examinations, with two storylines: striving for success as a farmer's son and the everyday life of the examination system. 2. A warm, gentle tone, with some passionate scenes.
