Is There Hope for Me If I Don't Skate? (SK8 the Infinity)

The Mengye family follows a not-quite-strict "two out of three" rule.

Anyone surnamed Mengye is bound to have two of the following: a sense of morality, reason, and aesthetic sensibility. Her father's alien taste in aesthetics was entirely salvaged by her mother, while her older brother's conscience always bends to the law under his sister-in-law's divine gaze. So as a Mengye child with morals and a sense of beauty, the heroine of this story naturally has a bit less going for her in the brains department.

In elementary school, she tried to conquer the world with technology and abolish mandatory PE, but her older brother shut her down so thoroughly she didn't stand a chance.

Because her intelligence was unusually low compared with her family's average, Mengye couldn't stick with the many different kinds of family tutoring. Rebellious but with her tail between her legs, she got into an ordinary local high school and began coasting through life with her science-track scores marking her as a monster.

"First, I can't skateboard."

"Second, if you want to teach me, be prepared for the skateboard to be on top and me underneath."

"If you have no problem with that, then go out with me."

The timeline spans middle school to adulthood.

Reading guide (things to watch out for):

The heroine is a Mary Sue.

The definition of a love-struck character is flexible; expect out-of-character moments and headcanons with shaky logic.

Her golden finger is maxed out when it comes to her family background.

The supporting characters are the fish she'll keep in her pond.

There is an ex-boyfriend who only appears in passing.

The pairing isn't decided yet. We're just having fun~

Theme: Even someone hopeless at sports deserves a romance.
