Top-tier star Cen Qi and award-winning actor Fu Cang co-star in an esports danmei drama. As expected, it becomes a massive hit, and they stay on the trending charts.
But Fu Cang finds love, while Cen Qi finds his dream.
On the very day the show ends, Cen Qi announces on Weibo that he's leaving the entertainment industry because he's going to play esports professionally.
The couple fans who've only just joined the fandom and Fu Cang, who's been preparing to confess: ???
A major sensation has recently shaken up the gaming world: a retired celebrity says he's going to become a pro gamer. Countless esports fans curse him out, telling Cen Qi to take his brainless fans and get lost, and stop ruining their gaming scene.
Amid a torrent of abuse, Cen Qi, whom nobody believes in, buys a rundown team and takes it from the lower leagues all the way to a world championship, winning trophies until he can hardly hold them all.
The esports world: So he really is a naturally gifted player.
The media once called Cen Qi a stubborn fool who was destined to fade into obscurity. Now he recreates the glory of his entertainment-industry debut in esports, with successful tournament runs and even greater popularity than before. He's back on the trending charts, just in a different field.
The entertainment industry: Hello, are you sure you actually retired???
His old fans admire his looks while learning his skills. His new fans admire his skills while getting hooked on his looks. The two groups get along harmoniously.
Fans: The drama had no real-life inspiration, but Cen Qi turned himself into the inspiration.
Fu Cang has actually been in love with Cen Qi for a long time. He thought the danmei drama would be the perfect chance to confess, but before he could win Cen Qi over, Cen Qi retired from the entertainment industry.
Fu Cang: So what if I have to chase him from the entertainment industry to esports? I can do that. : )
Fu Cang: So, how do you play this game?
