These stories have very little focus on romance. I think they're worth reading even if they do have a romantic storyline, or the work itself and the protagonist's characterization appeal to me enough that I can overlook the romance.
The above isn't limited to novel recommendations.
The protagonists are generally geniuses, highly intelligent, elegant scoundrels, seductive types, or crazies.
I'll list things to avoid and the like in the author's notes.
