After seeing off her match, Chen Yitao flees to her room and slams the door shut.
She presses five slender, pale fingers to her chest and breathes in short, uneven gasps.
Just then, the bedside lamp suddenly turns on.
Ji Zongliang is leaning against her headboard, idly playing with a small, delicate peachwood comb meant for a woman. His shirt is open at the chest, with just two buttons fastened crookedly.
As the light comes on, his gaze slowly shifts from the comb to Chen Yitao, standing stunned in the doorway.
The faint smile on Ji Zongliang's lips freezes in place.
He narrows his sinister eyes and lazily points the comb at her. “Should I do it, or will you break it off yourself?”

With his other hand, he turns her face toward him, his burning fingertips lingering on her soft, tempting lips.
After a long pause, he says yes.
“Your Fourth Uncle wants you. Will you give yourself to him?”

*The romance starts slowly, but picks up after about 90,000 words.
*The leads are not blood relatives and have no actual family relationship.
*The female lead is timid while in school, but grows stronger over time.
