The Unscientific Mochizuki-kun

Novel blurb:

Wangyue You is an ordinary elementary school student with a photographic memory. When his father's job forces him to return to China alone, the eleven-year-old discovers the world's malice firsthand.

Just after getting off the plane, he locks eyes with a strange-looking... Fantastic Beast?

The Fantastic Beast mutters something and flies straight at him. Wangyue You's remarkable memory automatically replays its hideous appearance.

Help! Can he buy a plane ticket and go back tonight? It's so ugly it's making him cry!

Wiping away his tears, Wangyue You swats the hideous little thing away, then looks up and jumps at the sight of a six-foot-three, white-haired weirdo with bandages covering his face.

The white-haired man smiles. "You have extraordinary talent, young man. Be my student."

Wangyue You: ???

After developing his own cursed technique under the tutelage of his white-haired teacher, Wangyue You returns to a normal life. Every now and then, he helps his scumbag teacher, who exploits child labor, by acting as his assistant and fighting monsters. He chooses to attend Rikkai Middle School.

He thinks everything can carry on in a plain, ordinary way, but it turns out that every member of the tennis club has a special skill.

Why does "Asura: Fire-Breathing Mode" actually produce fire?!

Why can "Nioh's Illusion" even change someone's appearance?!

This world makes no scientific sense!

Everyone: You're the least scientific one here!

And then there's the beautiful club captain, who supposedly makes people feel like they're staring into an abyss when he plays tennis.

Wangyue You: An abyss? No, he's a god.
