The Story of Su Qi and Nangong Li

To avoid an arranged marriage imposed by the feudal custom of betrothing children before birth, Nangong Li sneaks out of the palace.

She happens upon a gravely injured young man, and the story begins...

Nangong Li: Look, I saved you. Why don't you repay me by marrying me?

Su Qi: But we're both men.

Nangong Li: I don't mind.

Su Qi: Sorry, I'm already betrothed.

Nangong Li: To whom?!

Su Qi: The current princess, Feng Li.

Nangong Li: Perfect. Let's go back to the palace and get married in three days.

Su Qi: ???
