Feng Bai is a notorious little con artist in Fool's Village. Unlike all the girls her age, who dream of becoming priestesses, she dreams of going on adventures.

Unfortunately, she's poor, and the village is isolated, with poor transport links and sea on all sides. All she can do is daydream for a little comfort.

On the night of March 31, the day before April Fools' Day, Feng Bai was lying on her worn-out straw pillow as usual when she suddenly heard a second heartbeat in her chest.

Small and faint, but clear.

Legend has it that on a remote, isolated island in the South Sea lies Fool's Village, known for its honey and flower tea, with vast fields of flowers encircling the village in breathtaking beauty.

Every April 1, the villagers hold a grand feast, celebrating the visitors' arrival with flowers and honey.

Strangely, every traveler who attends the feast disappears the following day...

At the heart of an ancient altar, beneath the golden cup on a bloodstained stone dais, a cave leads deep underground. A pair of enormous compound eyes watches coldly.

This is a fanfic based on the original Charlie IX and Dodo Detective series. It does not include the later editions, the second series, or other spinoffs. A tribute to my childhood. The story takes place between volumes thirteen and fourteen.

Shen Yuan has been able to see things ordinary people can't since she was little. For example, when she went on vacation to a seaside fishing village, the owner of the farmhouse where she stayed had bulging eyes, mottled scales on his face, and sharp teeth when he smiled. He looked completely inhuman.

Yet in the eyes of ordinary people, the owner looked honest and kindhearted.

That was until a group of strange people calling themselves "players" arrived in the fishing village and personally exposed the unspeakable truth beneath its peaceful facade.

Shen Yuan: "That scared me to death. I thought I had a mental illness, but it turns out the world is sick."

So she "picked up" the players' proof and infiltrated the Main God Space in search of a beautiful new world.

She thought the Main God Space would be a little more normal, but when she looked up, a giant eyeball was hanging in the sky, shining and radiating heat, while passersby praised how pleasant the sun felt today.

Shen Yuan finally understood: it wasn't just her world that was sick. Every world, including the System Space, was at least a little bit insane.

To cure the worlds, Shen Yuan started a rebellion, sabotaged missions, bluffed her teammates, brought down cults, and finally pierced through the System to save the whole world.

Note: This is not traditional cosmic horror. There are plenty of original worldbuilding details, so lore purists, please don't take it too seriously.

Female-led progression story. The love interest is probably the System she pierces through.
