Because the Phoenix Princess was far too mischievous, her brother separated her soul and banished her to the mortal realm, claiming that she would experience all the hardships of human life and strengthen her resolve. But fate had other plans: it slammed on the brakes and flung her straight into demon territory.
A demon named Nurarihyon took her immortal body as his consort, while her divine soul, transformed into an immortal egg, nearly became dinner for the demons.
Was there any immortal more miserable than her?
To stay alive, her divine soul in egg form had no choice but to lodge inside Nurarihyon. She figured that would be a good way to get even.
After offending a petty Phoenix Princess, the poor, dashing, and flirtatious leader of the demons got to experience the bizarre ordeal of a man being pregnant for no reason at all.
