Qinglan University has two famous figures.
Zhou Wantang became famous across the internet with a single song, "Arson." In the video, her long hair flowed like seaweed, and her features were languid and alluring. Her singing voice had a uniquely expressive quality, as if it carried a story of its own.
Si Rui wrote "Arson" at sixteen and won a Golden Song Award for it. Her stunning face earned her the title "The Eternal Youth." She had short black hair, wore a white shirt, and had a silver inverted cross earring in her right ear.
Their classmates all said they were a perfect match. In reality, they were born to be at odds.
They fought in their cribs, tore up each other's homework in elementary school, sprayed each other with sports drinks in middle school, and badmouthed each other in front of their respective crushes in high school.
Once, an accident occurred during one of Zhou Wantang's performances. She was injured by falling debris while saving a child performer and temporarily lost her memory, to the point that she couldn't even recognize her own mother.
Someone uploaded a video of her with amnesia, and it went viral.
Everyone sent her messages of concern: "Tang, when are you going to pay back the five million you owe me? Stop pretending you have amnesia."
Zhou Wantang couldn't be bothered to respond. She turned off her phone and went to sleep.
As soon as she lay down, the doorbell rang. She opened the door, and Si Rui was standing outside.
Normally, the two of them would have started yelling at each other right away. But Zhou Wantang had a headache and wasn't up for a fight.
She snapped, "Who are you?"
Si Rui replied, "Your boyfriend."
