Sugar Cravings

1

When Leng Tian was twenty-five, she lost everything.

A car accident took both her parents and her fiance.

Alone, she returned to the little town where she had lived as a child.

Like a ghost, she shut herself away, living alone in the old house, where weeds grew up to her knees.

Late at night, with darkness all around, she sat curled up on the second-floor windowsill and lit a cigarette. She watched a boy in white climb over the wall and pitch a tent in her yard as if he knew the place by heart.

Before long, he was growing herbs, mint, and lemons on his little patch of land...

2

One day, Leng Tian found a student ID card smeared with dirt beneath the mint leaves.

So his name was Tang Mo, a freshman in the Finance Department at A University.

Leng Tian had thought meeting Tang Mo was pure coincidence.

It wasn't until later that she realized he had been waiting for her all along.

He had waited for her in this town for four years.
