The legend of Chen Feilong, sixth-generation inheritor and head of Shaolin Hongmen!
Shaolin Hongmen martial arts originated in the late Sui and early Tang dynasties. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom era, Hong Shicheng entered the Shaolin Temple and received secret teachings from Shaolin monks. Twelve years later, he returned to lay life and founded Shaolin Hongmen martial arts. He passed it down to the second generation, Sun Laochang, then to the third, He Chuanfu, and on to the fourth, Zhang Luzi. Zhang Luzi passed it to the fifth, Ma Zhenfeng, who eventually passed it on to the sixth, Chen Feilong.
Shaolin Hongmen martial arts emphasize training techniques, boxing, and combat skills together, cultivating both the inner and outer body and combining hardness with softness. Its training methods focus on "cultivating inner breath and strengthening the sinews and bones," emphasizing that "inner strength brings outer power." Inner strength makes the body as resilient as an Iron Shirt or Golden Bell, able to withstand blows. Outer strength brings an unstoppable force, like a landslide. Its boxing and weapons forms combine hardness with softness, with fluid, expansive movements and powerful strikes. Its combat methods balance offense and defense, employ strategic advances and retreats, and use clever attacks and decisive charges. Its martial medicine uses acupressure, bone-setting, and massage to heal the sick and save lives.
This school has a long history, spanning 155 years to the present. Its unparalleled hard skills have made it a singular force in the martial arts world.
